Month of disease...

This few month in televisyen and newspaper i have been heard about a disease like influenza A H1N1 that already spead around the world especially united states ,mexico and few country,but juz now i started to worried because that Influenza A H1N1 reach to malaysia at hospital sg. buloh! hmm.. and i dont believe in melaka the meningitis that the disease i always answed in my paper exam also have... and since in tuesday i also have a clinical manifestation of acute laryngitis... hmm..?? what is actually acute laryngitis??

Definition: simple acute laryngitis is an inflammation of the mucous membrane lining at the larynx ( throat ), accompanied by edema of the vocal cord.

Risk Factor: viral infection, cold, sudden changes in temperature, irritating fumes.

Clinical Manifestation: coughing, severe fever, painful throat, dehydration,loss of voice.

Pathophysiology: symptom vary from a slight huskiness to complete loss of voice. the throat may be painful and feel scratchy,cough may be present.

Treatment: removal of irritants,voice rest, correction of faultry voice habits, steam inhalation, cough medication, additional fluid by mouth are encourage.

Care of Management:

• Laryngitis in adults usually required only symptomatic treatment.
• Individual diagnosis with laryngitis are advised to remain indoors and avoid using their voice for several days or weeks, depending on the severity of the inflammation.
• Steam inhalation may be soothing and cough syrup or home remedies for cough relief.
• Avoid being near others who are smoking. additional fluid by mouth help dehydration and drying of the throat.
• Horseness voice usually worse in the early and in the evening.
• May have dry,harsh cough and a persistant need to clear the throat.
• Chronic layrngitis occurs in people who use their voice excessively or work continually around irritating fumes.
